Barbara J. Desoer's career with Bank of America spanned 34 years. As President of Bank of America Home Loans, she led the business that accounted for nearly one in every five mortgages originated in the U.S. In 2010, Desoer was recognized by Fortune magazine as one of the “50 Most Powerful Women in Business” and by U.S. Banker’s annual list of the “25 Most Powerful Women in Banking.” In 2009, Desoer was recognized by Forbes magazine as one of the “100 Most Powerful Women in the World.” Desoer received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Mount Holyoke College and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of California at Berkeley. She is a board of visitors member of the Anderson School of Management at the University of California at Los Angeles.

The Women's Business Connection provides resources to support women MBAs and enhance their experience at UCLA Anderson. We seek to develop outstanding business leaders and foster a culture of enthusiasm, cooperation, and creativity. Together we have built rewarding events, developed lasting friendships, and established strong professional networks. Our organization consists of more than 200 women enrolled in the full-time and part-time MBA programs at UCLA Anderson. We focus on career exploration, professional development, work-life balance, and networking with alumnae in the business community. We look forward to the numerous exciting events we have planned this year as we continue to enhance the experiences of women MBAs.
